WOMEN IN PORSCHE ADD CHARITABLE CAUSE TO MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS
Annual Holiday Membership Drive Supports Parkinson’s Disease Through Non-Profit Drive Toward a Cure
LOS ANGELES – December 11, 2020 – Women In Porsche (WiP), and it’s charitable arm WiPCares, is a global organization dedicated to sharing the stories of and connecting women who love, work with and drive Porsche vehicles. And for this holiday season, there is an additional incentive added to their growing list of yearly benefits — adding a stronger community approach to their annual membership drive by offering the ability to support Parkinson’s Disease through non-profit Drive Toward a Cure.
Now through January 5th, women seeking the camaraderie that those in the Porsche community continue to encounter, can also share in the same cause in which automotive enthusiasts across-the-country have chosen to associate — offering an additional connection among its members. Drive Toward a Cure (DTaC) is a non-profit foundation that supports Parkinson’s Disease through an ever-growing base of automotive aficionados. Since 2016, DTaC has raised more than $500K through multi-day drives, one-day club and track events and virtual programs – primarily all through the car community nationwide and to support patient care for those challenged by Parkinson’s.
According to Deb Pollack, founder of Drive Toward a Cure, Porsche owners have consistently played an ongoing role with the growth of the Foundation, from regional club driving events supporting the cause to attending multi-day rallies each year. “Back in 2016, the very first entrant in one of our events was the owner of a vintage 356 Super 90,” said Pollack. “Coincidentally, the owner also had Parkinson’s — and he shared our organization’s focus through the historic racing and car club community and now regional Porsche groups and owners alike have grown into one of our featured marques.”
Pollack also believes that the women who align with Porsche are women that are community-minded, enjoy women’s driving programs, including non-professional racing endeavors.
When Laurina Esposito, founder of Women in Porsche, contacted Drive Toward a Cure, she too realized the alignment went further than just a way to give. “With the launch of WiPCares, our philanthropic movement, we have a chance to not only support Parkinson’s but offer our members memorable opportunities beyond their donation – including the benefit of bringing cars and camaraderie into our communities and finding new and enjoyable ways to come together, especially during the holiday season.”
